Tarot is a system of divination, also known as cartomancy. Originally, the cards we now recognize as tarot were used in Italy as a card game known as "tarocchi", and was commonly played as early as the 15th century. People began to see the divinatory applications of the individual tarocchi cards, and their use as a fortune telling medium took root and spread. The art of cartomancy is extremely diverse, including forms known as Oracle, Lenormand, and Kippur. Even a standard 52-card deck of traditional playing cards can be used for divinatory purposes, which is happens to be the foundation of my own reader origin story.
You can expect a detailed reading, given in compassion and without judgment, that is fully confidential and secure. My personal goal is to equip my clients with a deeper sense of understanding, clarity, motivation, and peace.
The duration and composition of your reading will depend on your reading type selection. Both 30-minute and 1-hour readings are filmed, non-interactive video sessions that will be viewable to you via Google Drive, typically within five days of booking your session. These videos are downloadable, viewable only to you, and yours to keep.
30-minute readings will cover key aspects of your query, creating an outline of your situation. Generally included aspects of your reading will be:
1-hour readings will feature a more dynamic card spread, covering additional facets to your question and further insights on your situation. Extra cards, called clarification cards, are included in this extended version. Additionally, you will receive an oracle card at the end of your reading, providing you a parting message and additional illumination.
I also offer a live Zoom session that will last an hour and a half. This particular format allows for a fully interactive experience where we can discuss your cards, and have a back-and-forth dialogue, including any questions or clarifications you choose to contribute to our session. It's as close to sitting around the same table as we can achieve, so bring your cup of tea!
Personal, or private, readings are focused completely on you and your individual circumstances. Collective readings (as seen on YouTube) are a broad intuitive/divinatory analysis of a particular group's energetic signature. Often, the energetic signature of traditional astrological zodiac signs are used as a compartmentalization technique to tap in to a particular group of people's energy. in order to tap into the astral influences for this collective. Even so, collective readings are still very general and do not apply to everyone who fall into that "sign" category. Personal readings are meant to be uniquely tailored to you as an individual and will focus entirely on you and your surrounding energies.
To make fully informed decisions, we need to have a clear and rounded understanding of a situation and the people who are involved. We often lack knowledge of certain details due to ambiguity, hidden motives, or a situation having not fully developed. Tarot offers insights that the conscious mind is typically not aware. By referring to the cards, we hone our intuition to reveal previously unknown influences and motivations, both pertaining to ourselves and others.
Tarot is at its highest potential when we pose the correct question. An inspired tarot reading will empower you to make choices that influence your future in positive ways, giving you more control of the reality you create.
That depends. Allow me to explain, as this is a crucial aspect of understanding tarot...
Yes, tarot can give eerily accurate and clear answers to the point that it’s practically impossible to not receive the message loud and clear! You can act with certainty and confidence thanks to your consultation with the cards.
Other instances will be more subtle and open to interpretation. That is why it is incredibly important to use your own intuition when reading for yourself, or receiving a reading from a practitioner. Honesty with yourself is critical as well. If you’re too close to a situation, it can be challenging to quiet certain emotions that will skew your interpretation of the cards. Some tarot practitioners are unable to read accurately for themselves due to this natural human tendency to see only what we want to see.
Additionally, one can run into an actual block, meaning you are not permitted to see that information. My own philosophy on this phenomenon is that we are not always privy to certain knowledge. Some mysteries must remain shrouded for the sake of our own personal growth. We can increase our knowledge, but we cannot be all-knowing.
Tarot has the uncanny ability to predict likely outcomes. Does this mean that the foreseen outcome is set in stone? No, with an emphasis on NO!
Humans have freewill and the ability to change their reality. This is part of the beauty of tarot; it can act as a forewarning system, giving you a chance to alter course. Alternatively, you may actually like what the tarot is predicting! In that case, keep doing what you’re doing.
As I was raised Christian, I struggled with this question. After many years of philosophical inquiry, real-life experience, and "soul-searching", I came to an understanding of morality, realism, and spirituality that rang of truth for me. So, my own personal answer to the question "Is tarot evil" turns out to be a solid no. I see tarot as a practice, not a religion.
Interestingly, the imagery in the Rider-Waite Tarot draws strongly on Christian symbolism; archangels, the pillars of Solomon's Temple (Boaz and Jachin), Adam and Eve in the garden, pomegranates, Judgment Day, and so on. Additionally, the co-creator of the Rider-Waite Tarot, Arthur Waite, was purportedly a Christian.
Regardless, I am not here to convert believers, only to encourage your ability to question. However, do not question with mere canonized dogma, but question with your heart. My personal principles dictate that I will never tell someone what is right for them to believe, so long as that belief causes no harm to others. The pursuit of truth is highly individualistic. It is sacred.
Intuitive tarot reading is a specific technique used in a deeply personal way to interpret the cards. It is fundamentally intuitive. Traditional card readings rely heavily on fixed card meanings, or keyword associations. While an intuitive reader can refer to these traditional meanings, their approach will also incorporate symbolism (both traditional and personal) into their reading based on the card imagery. These readers will ultimately lean into an intuitive and flexible approach to decoding the messages within tarot. An intuitive reader may see a particular card and receive a unique insight just once, and never see that message in that card again during future readings.
Be honest. Honesty is essential for any self-improvement venture and tarot is no exception! You must be willing to learn, be open to feedback, and to see the situation (and yourself) for what it truly is, as opposed to what you want it to be. This is easier said than done, so there's a certain amount of courage that comes with entering a reading with an open heart and mind.
While I'm an intuitive reader, I'm still subject to your feedback. If you choose to lie or omit facts, you are only hurting yourself by preventing your growth. If you are truly open and receptive, you will be among those who gain the most power and potential from your personal tarot reading.
I currently only accept booking requests by email. I will respond within 24-hours to your query, and go over the details of your reading.
